Check your stock and profit reports

What is left on the shelf, what is not moving, and which products and buyers actually make you money.

Steps

  1. Open Reports & Compliance → Report Centre and click Inventory & Stock.
  2. Stock Summary gives quantity, Avg Cost, Avg MRP, Value @Cost and Value @MRP per warehouse; Stock Ledger shows every movement of one product for a date range.
  3. Under Sales & Inventory Insights open Low Stock/Stock Alert: products at or below their alert level, out-of-stock first, with Available Qty and Low Stock Alert.
  4. Non-Moving Stock finds what has not sold, and Returns & Damages and Discounts Given show what leaked out of your margin.
  5. Under Profitability & Performance open Product Profitability: each purchase batch with Purchase Price, Selling Price, Qty Sold, Revenue, Cost and Profit.
  6. Margin Analysis gives average margin % by category, Fast/Slow Moving Items gives sales velocity, and Customer Profitability ranks buyers by the profit they leave you.

Good to know

Low stock is judged per PRODUCT, not per batch: every batch of a product is added up and compared with that product's own alert level, so one nearly empty old batch does not raise an alert.
These reports count stock that has actually gone OUT. Stock leaves only when an order is both Completed and Delivered — never while the bill is still a cart or a draft.
Product Profitability counts only batches that have sold, leaves out approved cancellations and returns, and reads Revenue without GST. Filter by Supplier to judge one supplier.

Words used

WordMeaning
Available QtyWhat is in hand for that product, every batch added together.
Low Stock AlertThe product's own alert level. 10 is used when a product has none set.
Stock SummaryCurrent stock by warehouse, valued at cost and at MRP.
Stock LedgerEvery inward and outward movement of one product for a date range.
Non-Moving StockBatches of products that have not sold in the number of months you choose.
Product ProfitabilityRevenue, cost and profit for each purchase batch of a product.
Margin AnalysisAverage margin % by category, revenue against cost.
Fast/Slow Moving ItemsHow fast each product sells, by quantity and by value.
Sales SummarySales by day or month, with orders, quantity, gross sales, discount and net sales.

Profit here is only as good as your purchase entries: a purchase invoice saved with quantity but no cost price makes every sale of that batch look like pure profit.
