Words used
| Word | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Open AR Ledger | Leaves out cancelled bills, so you see what is really owed. |
| Chronological Ledger | Every entry in date order, cancellations and refunds included — for checking. |
| Billed | Bills raised in this period. |
| Received | Money actually received, net of anything refunded back. Credit notes are not counted here. |
| Returns / CN | Credit notes for cancelled or returned bills. They reduce the balance but are not money received. |
| Pending | What the buyer still owes. Cr means an advance in their favour. |
| Balance | The running balance after each row, built oldest to newest whichever order you view in. |
The ledger credits whole receipts rather than the split across bills, which is why its Pending is the figure to trust when a customer disputes a balance.
